The hotel is older, but very clean and well maintained, and the staff are engaging. The person who checked us in actually looked at me while talking to me. I'd accidentally booked the Marco Polo for the following weekend instead. The man there went out of his way to help get a full refund for my Booking.com mistake. Since they were full, he found and reserved a room for us here. Between the two places, they fixed my screw-up and turned the whole trip around for my wife and me.

The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed, microwave, and fridge. It's about six miles from downtown, but the bus is easy to access.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the place felt clean and safe, which I hadn't expected for the area. After checkout, we asked if we could leave the car in their lot for the day, and they offered to keep our things in the office while we were out. I was touched by how carefully the garden stones had been arranged and how healthy the plants looked. Nothing fancy, but I'd stay again.

The front desk guy was the best, he remembered details, was flexible, and gave us a good rate when the room we'd booked wasn't ready when we arrived. The room smelled clean, and you could tell the linens had been washed. It's an older hotel, with worn bedding and curtains, stained floors, and aging light fixtures, but the overall experience was clean. The area has prostitutes walking around at night, which is the one downside and not really the hotel's fault. Otherwise it was pretty quiet, well lit, and the room door had a secure lock. The fridge and microwave worked well. I found it on booking.com because the price was good compared with nearby options, and the photos looked better than others around.
