Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown

The lobby was a cozy place to sit by the fire, read, or have a drink, and the staff were friendly and professional whenever I needed help. This isn’t a luxury hotel, but the hallways were spotless and my room was spacious, clean, and in good shape for the price. Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown gets the basics right with comfort and good service. It’s been a while since I gave a Hilton five stars, but I’m glad to give this one that rating.

The restaurant kept service moving smoothly through the lunch rush, and the front desk staff anticipated what I needed without me having to ask. I recently tried this modern hotel with its on-site restaurant and bar, and everyone I dealt with was attentive and efficient. The experience lived up to the high standard I expect from a well-run place.

The elevator key tap system is there but doesn’t work, so anyone coming in from the garage can reach any floor without a card. The garage is open during the day and connects to an alley, which makes it easy for people to walk in and take the elevators. That feels like a safety problem. The air conditioning or heater was so loud I couldn’t sleep, and after a bad night I could barely focus on work during my short business trip. The TV was really slow too. I was told by text that my checkout invoice would be sent automatically, but it never came. I had to call back four days later to get it.

The rooms were fine, nothing special, and the food and drink downstairs shut at 10, even on weekends. Since downtown is crowded and loud, the convenient on-site garage felt like a rare luxury in Seattle. It has a direct elevator, and compared with secure overnight parking in other big city centers, I didn’t think the price was too high. They had Pack and Plays for babies and toddlers, which saved us from bringing one along. They were small and old, though, so bring your own sheets.
