Great location and hotel, but I whacked my shin on the wooden platform sticking out past the mattress at the foot of the bed on my first day. I left a towel there afterward. The website said there was a $10 daily cafe credit, but at check-in I was told it applied for one day, so I only used it once. When I asked again at checkout, they said it was every day. A bit of a bummer to get the wrong information.

Room 1005 was perfect for our three-night stay, and we even got a complimentary late checkout. The fitness room was clean and nice, with two bikes, two treadmills, weights, and stretching areas, all facing the street. Great location for enjoying downtown Seattle.

The coffee was the best I’ve ever tried. The rooms are a bit small but fine, and the location is awesome, close to everything downtown. Great place.

I was excited to try this place after usually staying at bigger chain hotels downtown, but it didn’t work out. The room smelled musty at check-in. I know the building is almost 100 years old, but after 20-30 minutes we left for a game and I had to run to the store across the street for allergy medicine because I was stuffed up and congested. When we got back, the room still smelled strange, especially the bathroom. We had a long, slow leak at home recently that caused black mold, and the smell and air quality here seemed very similar. It was late, we were tired from walking to and from the game, and the desk seemed unmanned, so we didn’t ask to change rooms. We tried telling the front desk how bad it was, but they just apologized and wrote down the room number. We were in a corner room on the 11th floor.

The hotel and our room were great, but that bathroom was unbelievably tiny and cramped, especially with so much unused space in the room that it could have extended into. And like in every hotel I’ve stayed at, the toilet paper was awkwardly out of reach while sitting on the toilet. Why do they all do this? Who designs hotel bathrooms this way?
