Staypineapple, Hotel FIVE, Downtown Seattle

The staff were the best part, warm and helpful every time we spoke with them. My partner and I loved our stay at Hotel Five. The decor had plenty of personality, fun and interesting, with a bit of weirdness I appreciated. After a full day exploring Seattle, the incredibly comfortable bed made for one of my better nights' sleep while traveling. We'd absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone after a hotel with more character than a standard Seattle stay.

The biggest issue for us was the neighborhood at night. Some parts of downtown nearby, particularly around Third Avenue, have a serious drug and homelessness problem. Just a street or two away, the atmosphere changed sharply. We saw people openly using drugs, wandering around in unstable conditions, shouting, and creating situations that made us feel unsafe. Walking around the hotel area after dark wasn't comfortable for us. This isn't really the hotel's fault, and the staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and safe. It's the surrounding area and a wider problem affecting parts of Seattle right now. It's a shame, because Seattle is a beautiful city with lots to see, but the drug problem affected our experience more than expected. The hotel itself was very nice, with friendly, welcoming staff and modern, clean, comfortable rooms that felt new and well maintained. After long travel days, the bed was one of the best parts of our stay. The location is convenient if you're arriving in Seattle 1 or 2 days before an Alaska cruise and want to explore downtown's main attractions. We had a very good experience overall at Five Pineapples House.

The location was perfect, and I wish we'd had longer to enjoy it. Everything from check-in to checkout was effortless, and the rooms and bedding were comfortable. The front desk gentleman even came out to make sure we got into the taxi he'd called for us instead of getting in with a random driver. I also got to meet Peanut the French bulldog at the desk and adopted a Dash the Pineapple Dog before leaving. When we booked, I thought it was just one night, no big deal, but the eclectic decor and service really impressed me from the moment the front door slid open. Next time we're in town, we'll stay at The 5, Pineapple Stay at 5th & Blanchart!

We spent our evenings unwinding in the lobby, playing shuffleboard and board games, and loved the pineapple theme throughout the hotel. They even did extra things to make my birthday special. The room was spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better, with everything within walking distance. From the time we booked, communication was quick and welcoming, with useful suggestions for activities and even tips on discounts. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly, fun, and very helpful. We had a perfect stay, and I highly recommend it.
