Rodeway Inn Meadowlands

We booked a night, checked in, and found blood stains on the sheets and other disgusting things in the room. The concierge was rude and no help when we went back downstairs, so we left without using the hotel’s services and contacted our bank for a refund. The clerk wouldn’t refund us, and after we disputed the charge they still charged us, saying we had used their services. We were upstairs for less than 10 minutes. Please provide the video showing where we stayed and used that room. Absolutely disgusting place and staff. If I could rate it minus 10, I would. They’re scammers.

The construction was a major surprise. The building was literally propped up on jacks, and nothing about that was disclosed when I booked. This feels like an active structural repair zone, not a minor renovation. The elevator barely worked and felt unsafe. When I asked about the situation, the front desk staff were rude and dismissive. For this price and brand, it was unacceptable. Travelers need to know before booking if a building is physically supported by jacks. I don’t recommend staying until the structural work is done and the hotel can operate safely and honestly.

The room was filthy, with stains on the bed and walls, bedbugs and cockroaches. We left because it was so dirty and awful. Walking in made you feel gross and itchy. The place smelled like paint and weed, and the room smelled like poop. The fridge and microwave had such a strong stench it could make you pass out. They’re doing construction but don’t mention it in the booking. The front desk was rude and wouldn’t refund us, even though we didn’t stay for two hours. The elevator had cracks and pee on the floor. The sheets hadn’t been washed, none of the floors were vacuumed, and when we came back from dinner our door was open. They had the heat set to 82, probably to keep the bedbugs away because they don’t like heat. The service sucks. Don’t come here unless you like sleeping with critters.

The closet had dirty socks, and there were opened coffee packets left by previous guests. The bathroom vent was disgusting, the windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and the curtains were ripped and stained. The ceiling looked like mold was starting to form.
