Club Wyndham Sedona

Rooms have very poor soundproofing. We had to listen to a maintenance man yelling at someone for ten minutes. The upper buildings can see the pool from their parking lot, but can't get to it without driving there.

The staff were kind, and the room was okay, but the resort doesn't deserve a high score. It looked as if the room had recently been refreshed with new furniture, yet maintenance was still badly needed. Several bulbs were out, and the light fixtures were installed so poorly that there were gaps opening into the attic. The bathroom was dirty, with visible discoloration that might have been mold or mildew, and tubs that looked dirty from age. A door between our unit and the adjoining one let us hear absolutely everything the neighbors said. Like many timeshare rentals in Sedona, Club Wyndham feels tired and dated, and needs both new furniture and a deep clean.

The staff were professional, courteous, and efficient, and during our four days we didn't hear the neighbors or parking lot. The rooms were clean. The TVs, though, are especially outdated. I couldn't use my PlayStation because there wasn't a remote to switch the input to HDMI 1, 2, or 3.

The condition of the units and the service both left me with a very poor impression. Ours had broken sliding doors and exterior trim hanging down, and generally needed some TLC. The rooms are standard Wyndham timeshare units, reasonably equipped, and the resort is central to everything in Sedona, but none of the units offers a view of the natural beauty. This was by far the worst service and poorest management I've experienced in the Wyndham timeshare system. I'm a Founders level VIP owner and Presidential Reserve owner, and was treated disrespectfully. The concierge seemed eager to get rid of me once they learned I wouldn't be available for the marketing attack. The front desk person who checked me in and the concierge were awful. I asked to hear from the manager when one was on site, and was apparently bothering the front desk and concierge managers, who weren't there at 4:30pm on a weekday. A manager arrived at 10pm and was asked to contact me, but didn't. The next day, a different front desk clerk called to ask whether management had followed up. I said no, and the clerk emailed both managers to request follow-up again. Still, nobody contacted me. The lack of concern for service is overwhelming. If an owner at my VIP level is treated this way, it's difficult to imagine how poorly guests and non-VIP members are treated. The declining state of the units only reinforces my impression of lackluster management.
