3 Son's Geronimo - Birdhouse Cabin

The cabins and grounds are great, and kayaking down the creek is fun. But there aren’t enough working kayaks, maybe five at most, and two more were broken. There are two pools, though the larger one was green, so everyone was trying to squeeze into the smaller pool.

The birdhouse cabin made our glamping trip with my little family much less stressful. It sleeps six to eight and had a microwave, refrigerator, smart TV, DVD player, and access to DVDs in one of the game rooms. We didn’t need to pack as much because the cabin had cups, plates, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Everything was super clean, including the sheets, which smelled freshly washed. We loved using the kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, volleyball and basketball courts, pools, and hot tubs. The host was really nice and accommodating when we checked in, though I wish I’d gotten her name. We loved our stay at Sons Geronimo. Thanks for helping us make memories that’ll last a lifetime!

The place never felt crowded, even though the property covers 25 acres, and it was easy to find, about 45 minutes from both Austin and San Antonio. We spent a weekend at Son's Geronimo and I felt more relaxed than I had in months. The spring-fed creek runs through the property, and the cabin was much nicer than I expected, with a full kitchen, AC, and real beds. There’s plenty to do without needing to plan: kayaks, paddleboards, a rope swing, pool, hot tub, fire pits, and a game room. Bring your own groceries since it’s out in the country, which is part of the charm. We’re already planning to come back.

My family and I stayed in a cabin over the creek, woke up to a great view, spent most of the day kayaking, then had a firepit that night. The game room came in handy when we needed a break from the heat. I’ve stayed at a couple of Son’s other properties, and this one was just as good. Highly recommend!
