Clarion Pointe Sevierville-Pigeon Forge

Tanassa, if I have her name right, was kind and did what she could to help. She’s the reason I gave service five stars and rated the stay two rather than one. My wife and I were there on Valentine’s Day for a friend’s birthday trip. The group chose this hotel for the price, though it wasn’t our first choice. When we arrived, there was a chemical, fumigation-like smell, the kind we often notice in thrift stores. We should have taken that as a sign to leave, but we were with friends and decided to risk it. We checked the beds, saw nothing unusual, and kept our bags away from them and elevated before heading out to Pigeon Forge. Around 10 p.m., after we returned and got into bed to watch a show, I shut my computer and saw something scatter. I got up right away, caught it with a paper towel, and confirmed it was a bed bug. I took it downstairs to show the desk, and Tanassa helped us get a refund. We wouldn’t stay there after that, so we booked elsewhere. The only place available was a nearby Hampton Inn at twice the price. Tanassa suggested other hotels that might honor our rate, but they were all full. We missed the warning signs, found bedbugs, and ended up spending more money. It was incredibly upsetting.

We wanted to stay near the Titanic Museum, where we had tickets for the next day after visiting the Lost Sea Adventure. The Clarion was ideally located. We called at the last minute and had a room within minutes. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the unusual shower was easy to use. The front desk staff were super friendly. We arrived late and slept through the free breakfast, but Flapjack's is right next door and within walking distance. I’d gladly stay again.

It’s pet friendly and conveniently located. The renovation removed the bathtubs, and I prefer a king bed with a tub. They don’t have that option. It’s basic, and pancake house customers park in the hotel lot all morning.

The room was spotless, with comfortable beds, no strange smells, and excellent air conditioning. There was plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful whenever we needed something. I’d consider staying here next time I’m in the area.
