Maple Leaf Motel

It feels rural, but there are a handful of places to get food nearby. The location worked perfectly for us on 62, between Medford and Crater Lake. For such a tiny tucked-away place, the room was really nice, and we enjoyed our stay.

The owners make this place feel welcoming, and their attention shows in the little details. They gave us helpful suggestions for local attractions and stayed open on Memorial Day without price gouging. During our stay, the owner stopped by with their adorable puppy, Lucy, for a run in the yard and kindly let us say hello. The grounds are lovely, with a white picket fence, roses, and other colorful flowers. There are comfortable chairs and tables, a gazebo for shade or rain, a small swing hanging from a tree, and a rocking swing. Solar lights make the yard and gazebo glow at night. They’ve clearly put a lot of work into creating a relaxing place. I’ve never felt more comfortable at a motel. It’s also a handy base for Crater Lake and the Oregon Caves, without the hefty price you might find elsewhere. Even though it’s just off the highway, it was surprisingly quiet at night in this small, peaceful town. The rooms have two full-size beds, a microwave, fridge, and TV. The bathroom sink is large enough to use as a kitchen sink, which is a clever and useful touch on the road. And the cleanliness was incredible, the cleanest rooms I’ve come across in all my travels. You could practically run and slide across the floor in socks. I hope the owners get the recognition they deserve for making such a cozy, comfortable place.

We had a great stay and would definitely come back if I visit Oregon again. I booked a 2 Double Bed room with friends for the July 04, 2025 long weekend because we planned to hike at Crater Lake NP the next day. Danny called the day before to confirm, and charged me only after I confirmed. Since we’d arrive at 1am, he made sure we had what we needed for self check-in. The room felt cozy and safe, with a fridge, microwave, WiFi, desk, and chair. The bathroom was clean and had fresh towels for all of us. There’s a gas station and a cute local coffee store about a 2-minute drive away. Check-out was hassle free, and it was great value for money.

We were pleased with our stay. The room was clean and well kept. Good value for the price and convenient too, so we recommend it.
