Riverfront Lodging

There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance, and the inside is cute. For the price, it’s fine, but I can’t say I’d recommend it. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, though they weren’t the worst I’ve slept in. My main concern was security. They use regular house keys rather than card entry, so it seems like anyone who has stayed there could have a copy. There was no lock beyond the knob, no deadbolt, chain latch, or anything else. I probably wouldn’t stay again unless I really needed to be in shady cove, and I’d bring a door jammer to use inside.

Sitting on our private deck with wine and a view over the Rogue after a busy day of hiking was so relaxing. Crater Lake is about an hour-ish drive away, but the amenities and chance to unwind made it well worth it. We stayed four nights as part of a Crater Lake visit, and appreciated having a grill for guests to cut down on restaurant meals, plus a microwave for leftovers. Our room, Room 19, was the best on the property. Its large deck sits off to the side of the shared deck, while Rooms 20 and 21 also face the river but have slightly smaller decks above the deck all guests can access. The room was clean and lovely, with a large deck overlooking the river. The Rogue River view was beautiful, and Dana, the manager, was extremely attentive. I’d read a few negative reviews, but they seemed like one-offs. It was an awesome place, and Dana was super attentive to our needs. My only less positive comment is that there’s no ice machine. We took picnic lunches on day trips and would have liked open access to ice. Dana gave us what we needed, but we hated bothering her over something so simple when we’re used to doing it ourselves. Awesome place with very attentive service!

The location on the Rogue River and the viewing deck are a big plus. The staff and owner were wonderful, friendly on the phone and in person, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable from booking through departure. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon Riverfront lodging, and I’ll stay there again.

We don’t get away much these days because we’ve been disappointed by hotel cleanliness before. We booked two nights at Riverfront Lodging hoping for the best, without really knowing what to expect, and what a gem it turned out to be. Clean floors and sheets made it feel like a truly inviting home away from home. I met a couple of the housekeepers on our way out, and could see they took real pride and care in their work. We’ve already started recommending Riverfront Lodging to friends and family so they can enjoy the same relaxing experience we did. Thank you!
