Days Inn Shawnee

The desk clerk was a five, but I'd rate the hotel a two after the hassle of moving. We checked in online and the first room looked fine until we unpacked. There was half a Pepsi in the fridge, which didn't bother us, and a light tan stain on the top blanket. Then my wife called me back from the bathroom and showed me dirty sheets under the pulled-back quilt. The desk clerk moved us to a clean room, and that one was great. But we had to gather everything up again and walk upstairs, which was hard with my new knee replacement. The first room gets a zero, though the replacement was fine.

Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly. I got a clean room, cold A/C, and a quiet place to sleep for the night, exactly what I needed. It was a solid value for the price, and I'd stay again when passing through.

I only stayed because it was so late that leaving for somewhere else wasn't an option. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned, the ceiling in it was falling down, and there were cigarette burns on the bedspread. The one staff member couldn't have cared less. This has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The room was nice, but breakfast was lousy. The area was tiny, with seats for only five people, and they had just waffles, cereal, and coffee.
