Fairfield Inn & Suites Shawnee

The location is really nice, with good parking, and both the room and hotel were very clean. But I wouldn't choose it for a few days of rest and relaxation if good service matters. The front desk rep was rude, didn't acknowledge me or greet me, didn't recognize my status, and I never got the hotel gift due to me as a gold elite member. No smile or sign she wanted to be there. The TVs also didn't work. I wasn't told one remote was for power and volume and the other for changing channels.

At 4pm, when check-in opened, the man at the desk still wouldn't help with our request to have nearby rooms. I'd called the week before and again the day before, and was told it wouldn't be a problem if we checked in early. My sister and I ended up in rooms far apart. I watched four people check into rooms nearer to my sister half an hour after I did. We had stayed at this location before, and I remembered the same man as the rudest person I'd dealt with. It felt deliberate and was ridiculous when you're paying for service. He's THE WORST at customer service.

The newer hotel is in a safe area, but I don't think it's worth the price. The beds were uncomfortable, and the towels felt more like shop rags. Breakfast was the worst part: the same tiny selection five days running. By far the worst Fairfield Inn I've stayed at.

I've called more than four times trying to sort out using my Marriott Bonvoy points for a reservation, and it's still unresolved. The desk clerk wasn't helpful, and the hotel was supposed to call me back but NEVER did. Poor customer service. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
