Quality Inn Shawnee North I-40

From check-in through checkout, the front desk team were welcoming, professional and very friendly. They were helpful throughout and made the stay smooth and comfortable. I had a wonderful experience at Quality Inn in Shawnee and highly recommend it.

The staff were pleasant, but my room had no shampoo. I asked for some and it never arrived. They said housekeeping would replace it when the room was cleaned that day, but the room was never cleaned. I had to ask a second time, then have someone bring the shampoo down to me.

The next morning, I told housekeeping about the bedbugs, and the maid said she already knew there were bedbugs in that room. She also said she hadn’t been told until after the linens had already been mixed with other laundry. That was alarming. At 2:00 a.m., after my elderly mother and I had been bitten, we had to pack up and change rooms in the middle of the night. We were promised a refund, but my card was charged three more times, and I was told the refund would take five days to process. The room had a foul odor when we arrived, the AC wasn’t working until a staff member came and plugged it in, and the TV didn’t work until someone connected the cable by hand. It seemed like the room hadn’t been properly prepared or checked. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. Quality Inn in Shawnee, Oklahoma was formerly the Baymont, but the name change doesn’t seem to have changed the standards. With the cleanliness, lack of preparation and billing problems, the stay felt unsafe and very poorly managed. I strongly urge management and corporate to address these serious issues before other guests go through the same thing.

This is my go-to hotel in Shawnee when I can afford it. The blonde counter lady with glasses is really cool and goes out of her way to help. The morning woman who’s been there several times when I check out around 6am isn’t friendly and has a bad attitude if you ask her to do anything. The evening woman who works until 11pm is the coolest, and very reliable about anything she tells customers.
