Red Roof Inn Shelbyville

I was driving alone from Kansas to Virginia and stopped halfway for a room because I was exhausted. I hadn't thought to read reviews first. The woman at the Red Roof Inn was prompt and very nice, which was the best part. But the room smelled awful, and the top blanket was stained. Thankfully, the sheets underneath seemed clean. Only one outlet worked, and the air conditioner sounded as if it could quit any moment. I slept and left early, and was very disappointed.

We booked a room for the Zach Bryan concert, but only had time to change there and didn't stay. It was awful. The door was already open, and the room smelled like an old ashtray. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke and could barely breathe walking into a supposed non-smoking room. I don't see how the good reviews could be honest. Very unhappy. The star is only there because the review form required one.

We've stayed here for two weekends so far, with three more to go. My fiancé is working in Louisville during the power plant outage, and I come up on weekends so he doesn't have to drive three hours home. We love the place. It's very clean, the staff are super nice, and everything has been perfect. Highly recommend it.

The first room's AC didn't work, and the refrigerator was leaking enough to leave puddles. The floor was filthy, and the room needed repairs. The bedding was stained, the pillows were dirty, and the rooms were outdated.
