Hilton Garden Inn Shelton

We’ve stayed here several times and have always had a good experience. It’s handy being right off Route 8, with lots of places to eat nearby, including Outback across the street and Chick-fil-A, Dunkin, and others around the corner and farther up the road. Walmart is close, too, which was a real help for picking up bottled water and snacks. Our rooms have always been clean and ready when we arrived, and the beds and pillows made for a great night’s sleep. The workout room was nice. I didn’t use the pool, so I can’t say how it is. We love this location and will stay here when we’re in the area again. Thanks to all the staff for taking good care of us.

The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a shower with amazing pressure. I liked having a microwave and mini fridge for my takeout and drinks. There are places to eat nearby, and being right off the highway made the location convenient. I traveled solo and felt safe. The only snag was figuring out a comfortable heat setting, but it didn’t spoil the stay. I’d recommend this hotel.

Bedbugs! When I reported the problem, they didn’t seem surprised and suggested switching rooms. Never again. I now have PTSD from this place. One star is the lowest option, or I’d give it zero. Run as fast as you can.

The pool was small, and the jacuzzi water was GREEN. I also had no hot water in my room, and neither the front desk nor corporate helped us. The staff member in the building was rude, dismissive, and wouldn’t listen to guests. Save yourself the disappointment and don’t go. This establishment deserves zero stars.
