Super 8 by Wyndham Shenandoah

The room didn’t feel clean, the tub was cracked, and the towels were rough enough to sand wood. The toilet paper seemed like WWII surplus, one-ply and almost see-through. At 7 p.m. the breakfast area trash still hadn’t been emptied, and the sign looked old. This place isn’t newly renovated. It’s definitely overpriced for the low quality. The front desk should be staffed by people customers can understand. If you’re desperate for somewhere to sleep and your car isn’t comfortable, this place will do.

The breakfast was the best ever! You could make your own waffles, and they had cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, plus juice, milk, and coffee. The rooms were clean and up to date, and the staff were friendly. Loved it!

This was the most expensive Super 8 I’ve stayed at. I travel with my dog, and they told me there was only one pet room. The location was great, right by an exit on the ground floor, but the room smelled awful, like a kennel and wet dog. The bedspread was dirty, the toilet was plugged, and the pool was still closed for maintenance. I’d recommend going 20 miles down the road to Clarinda.

For such a small town, the staff were excellent. The breakfast area was surprisingly spacious and had a good variety of offerings. The renovated rooms were clean, too. Nice hotel, with top-notch cleanliness. I’ll definitely be back.
