The location is safe and quiet, with good dining nearby, and breakfast was good. The manager eventually answered my questions about extra charges, but it took a while to speak with her. I woke up to additional charges twice during my last stay, and two women at the front desk were rude and acted like I was the problem when I asked what they were for. One of them came out to smoke and gave us an evil eye while I was trying to enjoy the pool with my family. During our four days there, the pool was never cleaned. I also found a cockroach in the first floor hallway. That’s unusual for this place, which used to be held to high cleaning standards, so maybe it was a fluke or someone brought it from home. Still, be aware, since they say where there’s one, there are hundreds. I used to stay here every other month when traveling to the Houston area, but it’s fallen below Marriott standards. I’d hoped to return, but I’ll find somewhere else to stay.

The room had a stale, musty smell. There were cracks in the ceiling with a poor patch job, and the air conditioner was loud and hard to ignore. The rooms are just okay.

Watch your step on the second floor. The floor is soft, uneven, and has a lot of dents. My daughter’s ankle rolled into a dip around the hall corner on the way to our room. Luckily she caught herself before she hit the wall.

It’s in a very convenient location, but the rooms smelled damp and old. We switched rooms and the other one had the same smell. This place needs a full renovation soon to keep up with the other options. In room 307, the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly.

The rooms were clean and had a kitchen, full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishes. The continental breakfast wasn’t bad either. My only issue was the $5.00 daily parking fee. If you’re paying to stay there, why charge for parking? It should be complementary, just my opinion.
