The noise was bad, too. There were loud sounds every night, someone blasted music in the hallway at 4 am, and I had to report a couple loudly fighting out there. The hallways smelled, and the cleaners seemed really afraid of my dog just from seeing me walk her. I won’t be back. I called before booking through Priceline to ask about pet rules and fees and was told nothing about either. At check in yesterday, nobody mentioned any policy, even though I told the woman I had a small dog. Then today I returned to the building and my keycard didn’t work. I had to walk all the way around to the lobby, where they told me, “Sorry I forgot to tell you that we have a policy that you can’t leave your pet in your room for any amount of time by themselves.” My dog has a crate, she isn’t just loose. They claimed they had knocked and called the room, but they never called my personal number, and they deactivated my keycard without warning. It’s derby week, so prices everywhere are jacked up, and now I have to find somewhere else after getting settled in for a multiple day stay. If I’d known about this policy, I would’ve cancelled and booked elsewhere. I spoke with a “manager” after they wouldn’t give me the higher ups’ phone number. She was condescending and nowhere near as apologetic as she should’ve been. She said my dog barks whenever someone walks past the room. Yeah, dogs bark. She isn’t aggressive, just barks here and there, and what do people expect if the motel claims to be pet friendly? She’d bark whether I was there or not. Expecting people, especially while traveling, to take their animals everywhere because dogs have messed up rooms in the past is ridiculous. Just don’t claim to be pet friendly. I was nice and patient at check in while the new lady figured out what she was doing. I can understand having a policy, but not telling people before booking or at check in is unacceptable. The way this was handled was completely unprofessional, and I was seriously inconvenienced with nothing offered to make up for it. The room smelled strongly of smoke, the floor was disgusting, and the AC unit looked like it had mold. The window lock was broken, so the window couldn’t be opened. There were people hanging out in the parking lot. I got no warning about the pet policy before booking or checking in.
