The heater wasn’t working as the season changed, so we called the front desk. A man, whose name I hope I’ve spelled right, Soniel, came right away to try to fix it. He had to move us to another room, but warmed it up and turned on the TV first. The new room was even better than the first.

The front desk was friendly, and I had no trouble with noisy neighbors during my one-night stop on the way to TX. The sheets looked dirty or stained, though. The area seemed a bit low-end, but nothing bad happened, and the stay was pleasant overall.

The train noise was the one real issue. It was loud enough to wake and scare me, so I wouldn't pick this motel with young kids or babies. I used my sound machine and slept fine after that. During the day, people staying here for work played music outside on the weekend, but kept it at a respectful level, and everything went quiet at night. I was worried about that, but it wasn't a problem. The room was clean, the location was good and fairly quiet otherwise, and the price is hard to beat even though the place is dated. For a solo traveler or couple, it should be fine.

I stayed here on 5/1/2024 and was impressed by how well this older place is looked after. My room, bathroom and fridge were clean, the beds were comfortable, and even the bare floors were spotless. I liked being able to park right in front of my room, and the grounds and parking area were clean too. I’m curious to see what they do to spruce things up for summer. The drink and ice machines, washer and dryer are together in a central passageway. The owner and front desk staff were very kind and helpful. I also had a pleasant early morning chat with the owner, who was excited about his parents' upcoming visit and told me about things to do nearby. Breakfast was the usual for this kind of place: waffles, toast, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice and milk. The night before, I paid twice as much at a place in Casper. The staff there weren't nearly as nice, and breakfast was no better despite the size and name of the place. It was upstairs with no elevator, too. I like the homey, comfortable and safe feeling here, and I'll stay here again when I return to Sheridan.

We've stayed here several times and had good visits before, but this one was bad enough that we're done. Our reservation had disappeared from their system, and I had to tell the front desk the price and tax amount so they could book us again. The first room was old, rundown and unkept, with dirty sheets. They moved us, but the next room smelled of old smoke, had a fridge held together with tape, broken curtains and more loose cords plugged into a power strip and hanging off things. In both rooms, cords from the TV and lamps were stretched across to a dangling power strip, which felt like a fire hazard. We slept on sleeping bags on the beds. We won't be back.
