Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Shreveport-Airport, LA

We stopped here around midnight on Thursday on the way home from vacation. It was a cheap, quick stay, and the room was okay, not bad. We knew you get what you pay for. The bed was quite firm, and the shower was hot and relaxing. The elevator was broken, which was tough because I’m ill and can’t walk much. The women at the front desk felt bad, though there wasn’t anything they could do about it. They went above and beyond with the few things I asked for. Those friendly, helpful clerks are the reason I’m writing this review.

We only stayed about 10 hours: checked in, slept, and hit the road. For a quick overnight, it was perfect. The air conditioner was cold, the room spotless, and we felt secure. I travel around the country with my family and have stayed in some rough places to save money, but this wasn’t one of them. Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Shreveport-Airport, LA, had what I needed: clean, cool, and convenient. We paid $85 for a spacious suite with a large queen bed, pull-out couch, and roomy living area, right next to the airport. Breakfast space is small and choices are limited, but it does the job. It’s a working-class hotel with people staying for jobs nearby. It isn’t fancy, but it is clean, safe, and comfortable.

The location was okay, but the hotel didn’t meet my expectations. The room smelled, the shower faucet was leaking and rusty, and there was dirt around the tile. The breakfast juice machine was out, and there was no ice bucket in the room. The elevator was the worst part. It slams so hard when coming down that your whole body shakes. We started taking the stairs. It’s not good for someone who’s afraid of elevators.

I travel to a lot of states for work and stay in hotels often, but I haven’t had customer service like this anywhere else. Sydni went above and beyond to make my stay superb, even though we were snowed in. Her professionalism and kindness were Grade A, 100 percent the BEST. Staying at Country Inn in Shreveport was one of my best experiences in a while. I’ll stay here whenever I need a hotel from now on. Thanks for the great service, it’s highly appreciated.
