Courtyard by Marriott Shreveport Airport

The staff are great, and that’s about the hotel’s only saving grace right now. The renovation has been going on for over six months with no end in sight, but you don’t find out until check-in. The pool is still closed, most rooms haven’t been updated, the lobby is inaccessible for much of the day, and the bistro is heavily limited. I also had trouble with the TVs in my room this trip. The nearby area is rough, with lots of homeless people, run-down buildings, and an abandoned hotel down the street. Overall, it isn’t great, though it’s about top tier for Shreveport in recent years.

The AC didn’t cool, though it did make a noise like an airplane about to take off. The shampoo and body wash containers were empty. At this price I expected continental breakfast, but there wasn’t any, not even coffee. Find somewhere better to stay.

My stay was pleasant until checkout. I left my phone in the room, then noticed it was gone when I got to my car. I checked its location and saw it was on the opposite side of the hotel from where I’d stayed. The cleaning person had tried to steal it. Both women at the front desk were very helpful. One called upstairs, and by the time she reached the cleaning crew, my phone was back in the room under a pillow.

The rooms look 30 years old and haven’t been updated. There was mold on the carpet and in the rooms, the bathrooms were dirty, and the body wash in the tub and shower was empty. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in over the last 20 years. Stay away.
