Hampton Inn Sierra Vista

We stayed five days and had a clean room, nice staff, and no one bothered us. Breakfast was there every morning, and they switched up the options each day while always having waffles. Depending on the day there were biscuits and gravy, potatoes, eggs, oatmeal, sausage, or bacon. We ate around 8 am. We didn't use the pool or hot tub, though they looked clean.

We picked this hotel for the indoor pool so the kids could swim, and that was a real disappointment. It wasn't due to open until 10, and after keeping the kids busy until then, we were told it might not open until 11 or even 12 because of a chemical imbalance. Checkout is at noon, so we didn't get to swim. The room was clean and updated, breakfast worked well for the whole family, and the location was convenient, just a short drive from restaurants and shops.

There was a small issue in my room, but when I mentioned it in the morning, they acknowledged it quickly. The person who helped me when I arrived in the evening was very nice, and the morning staff were wonderful. I was surprised by all the waffle options and combinations. They also offered to make a yogurt parfait with granola and strawberries, or with just strawberries. Even without the freshly made food you might find in other countries, there was a good range of choices. Worth the stay.

The staff were kind and helpful throughout our few-night stay near New Year's, especially the gentleman on the night shifts at the front desk. Our room was comfortable and very clean, with nice beds, and the heating and AC worked well. Housekeeping checked in often to see if we wanted the room cleaned. The indoor pool needed some pump parts replaced during the first few nights. Staff worked hard to get it running again.
