Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Siloam Springs

It’s always a calm place when I stay here, and I’ve been back a few times. I like to leave my door open, so if something strange is going on outside, the staff give me a heads-up. They’re friendly, and housekeeping replaces things as needed. There are always towels and hygiene products in stock, and I get privacy.

The room was otherwise fine, but the parking lot lights came through because the main curtain didn’t reach the top, which made it hard to sleep. The bathroom door wouldn’t close either. I booked through Priceline for the location and the included breakfast, only to learn at check-in there was no breakfast. The desk clerk apologized and said they stopped serving it during Covid and had told hotel websites many times. There was even an old sticker on the phone listing breakfast hours, though it apparently hadn’t been served in five years. The TV also didn’t work. The desk person said she’d come right down, but about thirty minutes later we saw her outside smoking. She apologized for forgetting and said that TV had been troublesome before. She got it working, and we had to repeat the same steps twice more during our stay.

For $81, this was unacceptable. We arrived at 8:30 pm with our young baby, and otherwise would have left as soon as we saw the room. Bugs were all over the floor, and the bedding was dirty with hairs that weren’t ours. No one offered to clean anything. I had to ask for a broom and sweep the floor myself. The bathroom door took real force to shut and open, and the mini fridge leaked because it wouldn’t close unless you lifted the door with your foot and pushed hard. We told management and both the night and morning staff how bad things were, but nothing was done and no refund or discount was offered. My Husband and I took pictures and videos and will report this to the Better Business Bureau. It felt like a roach motel experience. The heat and air dials were completely faded, there was some weird stuff on the wall that looked like toilet paper, the shower curtain was falling apart, and anyone over 5 feet tall should expect to hit their head on the showerhead.

We’d stayed here several times because it accepts dogs, but I won’t be back. There are always dead bugs and flies in the rooms. This last time, we were put in a room that wasn’t a pet room. My mother-in-law’s room had no TV remote, so I asked for help. The owner came down and fixed it, then grilled me about my dog. I’d paid the dog fee and gone to the room I was given, but he was very upset we were there. He said he’d move us, then said the room had already been used. We hadn’t even been there 10 minutes when we argued and he kicked us out. I asked for refunds for the two rooms we weren’t kicked out of, but got nothing back. If you’re traveling with pets, the BEST WESTERN across from the casino down the road is pet friendly, has very nice rooms, and costs about the same as Americas best value. I’ve also seen that the quality inn in Siloam Springs takes pets. This place isn’t cheap, and I don’t support it. Meeting the owner will show you why I say that. Please boycott this rat hole.
