The second room had material damage behind the bed. The first was filthy too: a razor on the tub edge, a paper clip by the drain, wax melted on the dresser, a hanger on the fire sprinkler, and a newspaper in the AC vent. The floors were filthy and the hallway carpet badly stained. We arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm and should have turned around. Police were at the hotel dealing with a domestic issue, and a maintenance man was fixing the outside awning. It all looked sketchy. “Yes, dear, you told me so.” Jasmine at the front desk was friendly and seemed embarrassed. She asked for photos to send to the housekeeping supervisor and did what she could to get us into a clean room. I was told it would be handled in the morning, though after reading similar reviews, I doubt it. The owner should be embarrassed and management should be fired. This is far below La Quinta standards. I stayed at another location in Dallas last night and expected a similar experience here. If you have a good stay before any notable improvements, consider playing the lottery. Once again, my wife was right.

I checked out that same night because I couldn't make myself stay another hour. The room was worse than the rest: grime on the walls, sheets so stained and discolored I wouldn't want my worst enemy under them, mold along the bathroom tiles, and a sink that looked unscrubbed for weeks. There was also a faint sewage smell coming through the AC. From the moment I entered, the overpowering stench turned my stomach. The carpets were stained, worn, and sticky, seemingly everywhere, and trash was scattered around the property. Hallways smelled of mildew and cigarette smoke. The excuse was, “Sorry sir we are renovating right now.” This feels more like a rundown crack house than somewhere people should pay to stay. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's unsanitary, unsafe, and nauseating. It needs to close permanently before someone dies of pneumonia or catches a deadly disease. This place honestly needs to be on the news.

The person at the desk was adequate, and the pet policy was the one thing I didn't object to. Apparently the place is being renovated, which is why it's a shambles. The floors actually slant, and the bathroom door in my room dragged so badly I was the only one who could open it fully. The AC looked nice but sounded like one huge cicada. Worst night I've had in many years. I wouldn't recommend the place at all, ever. I think the whole mess should be demolished and they should start over.

At night the lighting was so poor that I was nervous walking my dog, and the elevator felt unsafe too. The building was in awful shape, with stained carpets, a crumbling ceiling, a terrible hallway, and blood on the bed. Someone was sleeping right in the hallway, and I could smell marijuana coming from a room. The air conditioning and refrigerator barely worked. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and easily the worst La Quinta. They should tear the place down and rebuild it. I may be done staying at La Quinta Inn & Suites.
