The mattress was exceptionally comfortable, the heat worked well, and there was plenty of hot water with good pressure. The microwave and refrigerator worked, too. Everything was clean, odor free, and in good repair apart from a few problems. There’s a tiny desk but no table or dresser, and the towels were small. The shower diverter didn’t fully switch over, the bedside outlet was missing its cover plate, the TV had just eight local channels with very poor sound, and the sink water only ran lukewarm to hot, apparently a mixer cartridge issue. The room has no USB outlet, coffee maker, shampoo, or conditioner, though it does have a telephone. The guest laundry and ice machine weren’t working. There was hot coffee in the lobby, but it may have been sitting there for hours. People smoke outside the lobby door, so the lobby smells of smoke. This was one of the more bare bones places I’ve stayed, and the price seemed high for what we got, though hotels in Silver City seem expensive.

We had one regular towel for two beds and only half a roll of toilet paper. The toilet ran the whole time, and the hot and cold taps were reversed. The sink stopper didn’t work, so it clogged when we brushed our teeth. The side table wasn’t fully bolted down, the microwave was brown inside, and the door looked like it had been broken into several times. There were sketchy people everywhere. The sheets had a strange brown splatter, and what looked like blood was on the ceiling and walls. The rooms looked nothing like the website photos. If by some small miracle I didn’t contract Hepatitis while staying here, I might stay again in a pinch. The staff were great, but the rooms were disgusting. I guess there’s the $51 a night.

Very bare bones and sparse, though clean. There was one soap and a couple of towels, but no shampoo or anything else. There wasn’t even a shower curtain, and the toilet lid was broken, along with some other things that needed repair. It wasn’t very comfortable, but we managed to sleep, and at least it was inexpensive and quiet. We’d reserved two queens but got one king, which wasn’t ideal for two adults and a child.

The place is clean and quiet, with friendly staff ready to help with whatever you need. It’s definitely in better shape than before, and some much needed maintenance is starting this week. A good budget hotel for a night’s sleep, with coffee in the morning.

We were there 10/28-10/29/2025. I’ve stayed at Motel 6s elsewhere, and those were much better than this Silver City one. Room 106 was bare, with barely enough raised space for our bags. We’d requested a ground-floor room and got one. The mini fridge worked, though we didn’t test the microwave. The TV was meant to offer 49 channels, including HBO, but we could only get about six basic local channels. The toilet never flushed all the way. There were bugs on the bathroom floor and in the lobby. The bathroom lights worked, but the room lights didn’t, and some outlets were clearly missing or broken. The building looks old inside and out, but I still expected basic amenities. There’s an ice machine, but it didn’t work and had no notice saying so. Angie was working nights and dealt with the problems. She agreed to arrange a refund but couldn’t issue it then. There was no management available by 7am, and no one picked up the hotel’s main number that morning. The front desk staff arrived around 7am and I left my information. Maybe management will still refund my card.
