Hampton Inn Simpsonville

We choose Hampton whenever we travel, and this is a great place to stay. The rooms are modern and clean, with great beds and full-sized pillows. Staff are friendly, and breakfast has a huge range of options and excellent coffee. Highly recommended!

I was able to walk to Subway for a quick dinner and felt safe. The location was convenient for cycling on the Louisville Loop, and the staff checking me in were accommodating about getting me a first-floor room. My room was large and clean. Breakfast had plenty of food and a good variety. I only wished there were an overhead light.

We were relieved to find a clean room here after leaving another hotel that was absolutely disgusting. It was the last room available. The AC worked great, the tub drained properly and had a plug, which was perfect for bathing our son, and breakfast was surprisingly good. Housekeeping brought fresh towels and made the bed each day. The beds were decent enough for a few nights, though not super comfy. There was no bathroom door lock, which is tricky for moms with “Velcro babies” who follow them everywhere. Our main complaint was the water pressure. For about three days, barely any water came out of the shower. When we called the front desk, the woman said it was probably because “everyone was using the shower at the same time,” which didn't help much. The shower pressure kept this from being a five out of five for us. The stay was okay, though, and a huge improvement over where we'd come from. We were grateful to have a clean, comfortable place to stay.

A reservation issue led me to request a refund, but the manager refused to work with me or offer any resolution. There was no empathy or flexibility, and no attempt to make things right. It felt as if keeping the money mattered more than keeping a customer. I've had good experiences at many Hilton properties, so this Hampton Inn was a major letdown. If customer service and accountability matter to you, I strongly recommend another hotel. There are plenty of places that treat guests with respect and fairness.
