Candlewood Suites Sioux City - Southern Hills by IHG

Google Maps has this property pinned at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. I submitted an edit and hope it gets fixed so it won't mislead other customers. That was the only inconvenient part of my stay. I hadn't planned on getting a room, but with a tornado watch I didn't want to sleep in my van. I usually choose Holiday Inn or HI Express, but Candlewood was cheaper that night. As an IHG One member, this was my first Candlewood stay, and I was pleased with the room and customer service. The front desk told me about several unique perks. There's also a kitchen in the room, which is good to know even if it doesn't really fit my travel style. I stayed 5/17 - 5/18.

The property looks a little dated, but that didn't take away from how happy I was with the stay or the value. My room had all the necessities and then some, including Dove bath products. The bed was super comfy and I slept SO well. Both the evening and morning staff were extremely nice and accommodating.

The kitchenette made it easy to keep groceries and prepare simple meals. It had a full set of dishes and cookware, along with a full-sized fridge and freezer. My single queen suite was clean when I arrived, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom had plenty of room to move around and keep toiletries, though the floor under the tub felt a little weak. I hope they address that in future renovations. The staff were attentive and friendly from check-in through check-out, and the hotel welcomed both me and my pet. It was a very enjoyable stay, and I'd gladly return and recommend it to travelers with pets looking for a comfortable place.

We showed up in the middle of the night after an unexpected hospital visit and needed a room. The staff got us in right away and were really friendly. Once inside, we found a full kitchen with a fridge and freezer, sink, and dishwasher, plus a cozy queen bed. I got the best night's sleep. We were starving after not having eaten all day, so the Candlewood nook with food and drinks open all night was a lifesaver. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.
