Finger Lakes Lodging

The cottages are quaint and clean, but the hot water ran out quickly, and it was hard to get the temperature right. A problem with the sink meant we had to change rooms, though the second room was much the same. There weren’t any instructions for reaching the front desk or using the TV. It felt like the cottages were an afterthought to the spa.

I was very disappointed. The windows were filthy, and it was dirty behind the furniture. The TV was tiny and difficult to use, the shower was smaller than a broom closet, and the air conditioner sounded like an airplane taking off. I’d stay away. There are much better places in town for the same price or less.

We stayed for almost two weeks, and the people here were among the kindest and most accommodating anywhere. The Common Room was a great place to sit by the fireplace, use the refrigerators and coffee machine, and chat with lovely people. Housekeeping was impeccable, and the sheets and towels were lovely.

The rooms are small and pretty rustic. They worked fine for one night, though I think a longer stay would feel cramped. For the price, I’d recommend Finger Lakes Lodging. The Lodge is less than a five minute drive from Skaneateles village, and it’s right across from Rosalie’s, which makes dinner convenient.
