Baymont by Wyndham Smyrna

The room was clean enough, and the guest services woman was friendly. We only needed one night, thankfully. The location was close to where we were headed, which was useful. There weren’t many cars in the lot, so I suspect the marijuana smell came from employees rather than guests. It was in the lobby when we arrived and again at checkout the next morning. The hallway smelled too, though less strongly.

I came from Miami to spend four days with my son, who booked through Expedia. The room smelled of marijuana, and my husband had to spray his expensive cologne to cover it before we left. The hallway smelled too. The place was nothing like the pictures and felt disgusting and misleading. I told my son how bad it was, so he contacted Expedia. They said they would ask the hotel about refunding his money, and we went back to check out. The clerk was rude. I tried to explain calmly that she shouldn’t argue with a customer, my son, but she showed no customer service skills. If my son doesn’t get his money back, I’m contacting the Trade Commission. I’m giving you 48 hours to address this. Do better. This place gets a thumbs down from me.

The beds are so comfortable you won’t want to get up, and the staff are thorough. The rooms are awesome. I’ll be back.

Do NOT stay here. The first room smelled awful, like mildew. At first the second seemed better, but by day two it smelled the same. It wasn’t properly cleaned, the furniture had been chewed up by a previous animal guest, and the AC leaked onto parts of the floor. There was no tissue, and the room phone was just a prop, not connected to a line. When we finally reached the front desk, the staff member only mumbled and never said a full sentence. She was no help the whole time. Our key was deactivated several times, and there was something like makeup or blood on a wall. The damp floor seemed to be where the mildew smell came from. A horrible experience, 0/10. I wouldn’t recommend it.
