The ceiling fan near the bed made a big difference since most places like this don’t have AC. The studio was super clean and nicely decorated, and the bed was really comfy. We’ve stayed in a couple of resort condos, but this one was much better and cost less than a hotel. I’d totally stay here again.

We spent Labor Day weekend here, and the staff were friendly and helpful from the quick check-in onward. We were greeted with a smile, and our condo felt clean and relaxing. The view was spectacular. I can’t wait for another getaway.

I own rental units myself and know how some owners and managers take advantage of guests, but I’d never experienced anything like this before. We had only five days over the recent holiday break at Lichenhearth condo #31, and paid a lot, over $1,000 a night. The whole stay was a total disappointment, with one problem after another and repair visits when the last thing I wanted was to deal with lodging issues. The tiny, cramped studio looked like it hadn’t been updated since it was built in the late 1960s or early 1970s. The thermostat seemed to be from around 1968, with no clear temperature markings. It took a few days to work out how to set the slider so we wouldn’t be cold or baked, and there was no humidity control built into the HVAC. The plumbing was so outdated that the shower in the tiny, claustrophobic toilet and shower room swung between scalding and freezing. There’s only one shower. The place felt suitable for two or three people at most. A friend who owns Snowmass units and has worked for Destination Resorts in Snowmass for 25 years visited on our departure day. He said the carpet was from the 1990s and he wouldn’t have paid more than $200 a night for this dump, even in peak season. It was torn, frayed, worn, and filthy. The kids wouldn’t walk on it without slides. The bunk beds were jammed against the king bed, so there was no privacy, and the bunk ladder was flimsy. It broke during our stay and injured my son. We had to use a chair to get onto the bed for the rest of the visit. iTrip, the property manager, said the ladder would be fixed before we left, but it wasn’t. The iTrip co-owner also promised compensation for the shower trouble, which I’m still waiting for. That’s probably lie number two. The kitchen was so tight and basic that we had no desire to cook, and we weren’t confident the utensils, bowls, or plates were clean, so we ate out. Eating in would have been fun and a lot cheaper. The beds all had very hard, unforgiving foam, and we tossed and turned all night without proper rest. I found iTrip dishonest, and the owner, Michael Figgins, seemed interested only in gouging people for money while providing minimal service. The unit is advertised as ski-in/ski-out, but it was more like ski-in, then walk uphill on a gradual slope about 35 yards to the lift. That felt misleading. For the price, the condition and lack of amenities were ridiculous. I do not recommend iTrip.

A real hidden gem, and so close to Base Village. The studios and one-bedroom condos are cozy, with full kitchens, fireplaces, and each has a deck or patio. There’s also a pool, hot tub, and small sauna, plus complimentary covered parking. Perfect location!
