Quality Inn Solomons - Beacon Marina

The Calver Marine Museum is close enough to walk to. This is a simple hotel with a clean, roomy room, though it often got too warm. Night staffing seemed thin: nobody answered when I called the first evening to ask for a wake-up call, and the one I arranged the next night came an hour early. Breakfast options were sparse, but the bagels were fresh, which you don’t find at most hotels.

The view behind the place, across the marina, was what I liked most. My room was clean, the sheets were fresh and the bed was comfortable. Everything worked, and the staff were really nice.

I had awful service here. The vending machine didn’t work, so there was nothing to drink, and the person at the front desk, Mark, lied to me. The cleaning lady was rude and unprofessional. Someone also came into my room and stole my medication. Be careful staying here. There’s a reason it always seems empty.

Don’t stay here. There was mold all over, and food in the air conditioning unit. The towel looked like it had been used to clean paint, the tub’s paint was peeling, and the wall access panel was hanging open and wouldn’t shut. I took off the pillowcases to check the pillows and found them badly stained. There was blood on a pillowcase and the mattress. So gross.
