Our room in Building 1 was a studio with a regular bed, not a Murphy bed. It had a well-stocked kitchen, and we grilled dinner on the deck one night. There was also a washer and dryer, though we didn't use them. We stayed four nights using points, and the front desk staff were wonderful. The location made it easy to walk into town while staying away from the traffic. We went to the Santa Ines mission each evening for sunset, and it was beautiful. There are plenty of wineries nearby. We especially liked Sandstone, Vega, which also has farm animals, and Brick Barn. We tried a few in town too, visited lots of bakeries, with Solvang Bakery and Olsen's as our favorites, and had two great meals at Solvang Brewery. The beers were good too. The main pool and hot tub hadn't opened for the season until the day we left. We did use the hot tub in the building behind the main pool, though, and it was just right, with towels provided. The one letdown was that Wi-Fi costs extra. We didn't pay for it, so I can't say how well it works. We'd happily stay again. What a lovely town!

We could walk to just about everything a visitor might want to see in town, and downtown is right nearby. We only used the truck for a grocery run and to stop at the Mission on the way back. It's a nice change from Worldmark places that are out in the middle of nowhere. The luggage carts were unusually quiet thanks to their pneumatic wheels, which we appreciated. The lot is on the small side, though. Parking something F150-sized or bigger there would be difficult. Street parking was easy and free, so the visit was definitely worth it.

We rented a two-bedroom suite for a wedding at Alisal Ranch, and it worked out really well with our infant daughter. She could sleep in her own room, and the price was great for such a spacious place with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The gym was pretty disappointing, but that wasn't enough to take away the five stars.

We spent four days here and would gladly do it again. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, and we could walk everywhere. Solvang had plenty going on, with fun activities, great restaurants, and distinctive shops. The setting was unbeatable. Anyone who thinks the town is boring should think again.

There's a pleasant Danish touch to the place, and it feels different in a good way. Our room was roomy, clean, and very modern. It's also close to lots of other places. I think most people would enjoy staying here.
