The sheets looked like they might have been washed eventually, maybe in another decade, and the bed had obvious stains of unknown origin. I didn’t want to imagine the stories they suggested. There were also extensive dark spots on the ceiling that looked to me like black mold. I’m no microbiologist, so I can’t say exactly what it was, but it seemed well established. I expected the basics from a budget hotel: a clean, functional room, modest comfort, and a safe place to rest. Instead, it felt like a field study in neglect.

A good spot for travelers, and I’ll definitely come back. I stayed three nights, slept well, and paid about half what most places cost. Everyone was friendly, there were light refreshments in the morning, and the parking lot was well lit.

Getting in and out is a bit of a hassle, but that’s minor. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, the staff was great, and the highway location worked well. I’ve stayed at a lot of places around the country, and this is one of the best values I’ve found. I’ll book here whenever I’m passing through again.

I was pleased with my choice and would stay again. The room was clean, the bathroom spotless, the bed freshly made, and the floors had been newly renovated. There was a refrigerator and microwave, too. The $65 rate was very convenient, and the motel was right off the turnpike and 15 minutes from the prison, which worked well for my trip to Somerset for my uncle’s graduation. It was a three-hour drive, so I came the night before instead of setting out that morning. The staff were kind and friendly, and I didn’t need to ask them for anything extra. Breakfast was served, though the only meat option was pork sausage. I was happy with my waffle and orange juice, which I used for a mimosa I made myself.
