Morrison House

It’s a quiet place in a great spot, about a three minute walk from Davis Station with lots of restaurants nearby. We stayed four nights and would happily return. Our room was a pleasant surprise after past issues at similar places. It was spacious and comfortable, with two queen beds, one foldable, plus a table, an armchair, a bathroom with a shower, and a sink. Service was barely noticeable, but satisfactory, with no complaints. Breakfast was a mixed bag. I’m not fond of hard boiled eggs served stone cold from the fridge, though I liked the yogurt selection. We tried breakfast once and then bought food elsewhere. They also have a cat as their mascot, but it isn’t allowed in the rooms, so allergy concerns shouldn’t be an issue.

The house is in a nice area, close to a nearby square with shops and restaurants, and has parking in the driveway. We’d book again. After an eight hour drive, the comfortable bed was just what we needed. They accommodated our very late check-in, and we got two of the best nights of sleep we’ve had in a while. The room was cozy, with a desk and sitting area. The bathroom is only big enough for one person at a time, but the shower is tall and has excellent water pressure, which matters to me. Breakfast included French press coffee, mostly fruit and cereal, a muffin or cake of the day, plus hard boiled eggs and yogurt for protein. We enjoyed chatting at the breakfast table with another family visiting from California.

We came on the recommendation of friends we were visiting and were really happy with our stay. It was quiet and accommodating, the beds were comfortable, and I enjoyed French press coffee every morning. For the location, price, and accommodations, I’d choose this over an Airbnb or a hotel. There wasn’t soap in the bathrooms when we first arrived, but it was sorted out quickly.

I booked at the last minute and expected to pay a lot more for much less, but this place met or beat everything I hoped for. Great communication, a comfy bed, good amenities, and a really nice place to stay for a good price. There’s a lively neighborhood a short walk away, with good nightlife, at least on a Saturday.
