Charles Bass House Bed & Breakfast

After driving two hours, this was just the respite we needed. We stayed midweek in the quiet, two-room suite on the first floor. There was excellent wine and soft jazz playing, and John made the best pancakes I've ever had. Our family felt welcome and at home. We'd absolutely recommend it and come back.

Breakfast was delicious each morning, and they paid attention to our dietary needs. The host went above and beyond, making us feel at home right away. This charming B&B has good food and amenities, and it's in a perfect spot downtown in South Boston. We'd happily stay again and tell friends about it.

John made sure we had everything we needed during our one-night visit. The check-in directions were clear, the lights were on to welcome us, and the hot tub was ready with clean towels beside it. There was good wine and beer waiting, too, with sturdy cups for using by the tub. The house was very clean and still beautifully decorated for Christmas. Welcoming music was playing downstairs when we arrived. Breakfast came with fresh fruit, crisp bacon, fluffy pancakes, and strong coffee. We'd definitely return.

We were in town for Blue Ridge Rock Festival and like supporting local businesses when we travel. John brought us delicious coffee each day, which we really needed, and breakfast was excellent. My group often chooses B&Bs on trips, and this was one of our best stays. We hope to come back soon.
