Richie and the team made me feel welcome and secure. They’re professional, but they also show real care. No place is perfect, but the company should be grateful to have people like them.

The management and housekeeping teams are fantastic. The hotel is very nice and clean, and they’re always willing to help.

I never stayed at Amwell Suites, but I was charged $200.57 after trying to cancel a mistaken reservation almost immediately. I booked through Priceline around 2:00 AM on Saturday, June 21st, realized within five minutes that it was the wrong hotel, and asked Priceline to cancel. They said they had to email the hotel for approval. I expected the hotel to stall until check-in passed so it could keep my money, and that’s how the situation felt as it unfolded. I went to the property several times. Richie at the desk said he couldn’t cancel because he wasn’t the manager and didn’t have email access. Booking.com, which was actually behind the Priceline listing, told me they couldn’t reach the hotel by phone. I was in the lobby and the phone never rang, so their contact information clearly wasn’t current. Later that night Richie showed me a screen and said the reservation was canceled. I trusted what he told me. The next day there was no refund. Priceline reached Richie, who said he had never canceled it. I drove back with a Priceline agent on the line. Richie walked away, and Angie came over. She said the reservation was still active and that Richie was off the clock and unavailable, even though he’d been at the desk moments earlier. I spent hours and gas going back and forth, and got nowhere. I didn’t use the room, and I canceled right away. When I called it fraud, gaslighting, and dishonest business, it was because I felt they were lying to cover themselves and keep my money. Unless they make this right, I’ll file BBB complaints, contact consumer protection, and post about it on travel review sites. Amwell Suites should do better, and Richie and management should be held accountable.

The room was clean and spacious, the bed was okay, and it looked like it had been painted recently. I saw another room being painted in the morning, so at least they seem to be maintaining the place. The clerks were polite, and if the teenagers hadn’t woken us, I’d have rated it two stars, or three if they could stop the back lot partying. But the night was rough. Around 2 and then again at 3 a.m., teenagers were roaming the halls and talking loudly enough to wake us from a sound sleep. My husband got up and politely asked them to quiet down. They did, but only briefly. I’m fine with budget hotels, but I’ve never had that happen before. I complained politely the next morning, and the morning clerk was apologetic, as had been the night clerk, but neither seemed to know what to do. The owners ought to have a plan. There are cameras, so they could identify the parents and fine them or threaten eviction if it happens again. I wouldn’t let my kids wander a hotel at midnight, much less 3 a.m. We’d booked one night while driving south. At the address we were given, there was no hotel, so I called and was told it was a mile away. The sign there said Somerset Lofts. I’d read some reviews and had decided against that place, and I still don’t understand why the hotel had a different name. It felt misleading, though perhaps there’s another explanation. The owners need to fix the address and Google Maps listing. Maps can get addresses wrong, but users can submit corrections too. The description should also be corrected because they don’t serve breakfast. We only stayed because it was already midnight. If we’d arrived earlier, I’d have asked for a refund and gone to one of the many nearby hotels. The desk clerk apologized for the wrong address, but couldn’t explain the name. When I pulled around to park, I saw about a dozen people hanging out, maybe partying, in the back lot. That made me uncomfortable. I don’t mind longer-term residents, but it was midnight on a Wednesday, with bottles scattered around. They need quiet hours and safe spaces. Luckily, someone left a spot at the front of the lot. I complained, and the clerk said they had cameras inside the halls and outside, though he didn’t seem to know what could be done. There was no coffee maker in the room. They offered a Keurig pod or two for the lobby, but had no cups and said they were on order. We had our travel mugs, thankfully.

The employees were friendly and professional, and we had excellent interactions with the people there. We enjoyed our time at this hotel. It was well organized and had plenty of lovely features.
