I stayed here on June 4th and loved it. Of the six places I stayed around Colorado on my road trip, this was the best value. It was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a super comfortable bed and easy-to-use heating or AC. Check-in was simple, too. Recommend it! A++

The Traeger and gas grills were a highlight. I made burgers and tots for our group, and we ate together in the café space. It felt like sharing an experience, not just booking a place to sleep. We also enjoyed the bar area, played darts, and had genuinely good food. Wolf Creek Lodge has a clear sense of both adventure and comfort, and they pulled it off. The rooms were clean, spacious, much better than expected, and thoughtfully themed around the outdoors. The beds were crazy comfortable after long days outside. This was a cool step up from a basic hotel room, with a welcoming, intentional feel. We'll absolutely be back.

The hot tub was the main reason we booked, since we wanted it after a long drive, but when we found out it was still out of service, we asked to cancel. The other amenities weren't available either, including the grill and sauna. Management wasn't available onsite and didn't respond to calls or messages. We were the only guests in the hotel, yet they tried to put us in a very small room. They made no effort to compensate for the missing amenities with a drink, food, or an upgrade. Booking.com couldn't reach them to resolve it either. I've tried contacting them through Instagram, Linked-In, Facebook, and other channels without success. Now it seems I'm stuck paying for a stay I didn't have. Other places nearby had functioning amenities and guests, at the same price or less. I'm incredibly frustrated. I'd avoid this hotel.

The staff were lovely, hardworking, and saints. None of my ratings are about them. The problems were at the management level, and I think the week after Christmas, when we stayed, made them worse. We booked through Expedia, which said all fees were paid, then hotel paperwork asked us to authorize a $25-per-room-per-day FAFO (For All Fun Outdoor) fee. It supposedly covered lots of equipment, including in-room swag and gear. We thought we'd already paid through Expedia, but the form made it sound like we'd be charged again. I spent time with Expedia and staff trying to clear it up. Management needs to explain the fee to guests and make the paperwork clearer. The rooms have no storage, no shelves or drawers to put things away. We bought boxes to keep our things off the floor, along with cleaning products and floor mats. We stayed six nights and didn't get room cleaning or service, and had to regularly ask for clean towels. With the snow and gravel and all-linoleum floors, the mats mattered. The facility had one staff member, who wasn't there around the clock, and the staff were great. It needs more laundry and trash facilities for its size. I assume it's not usually as full as it was the week after Christmas. The hot tub was said to heat only to 101 and felt like warm bath water. That left one sauna, which was nice but full. There weren't enough towels for the number of guests. I think being full and understaffed caused many of our issues. Better in-room storage and supplies, including shelves, a broom, flatware, and regular trash service, would have helped more than yetis and hammocks. The laundry room needs more capacity, since guests are outdoors and will use it. Maybe the beds could have open space underneath for storage. Four adults with ski gear just didn't fit.

We used the shared space to have drinks and play darts one evening, then grill dinner by the fireplace the next. On Wednesday, when we arrived for our company Leadership retreat in South Fork, our team finished a meeting in a spacious room there. The hotel staff were very accommodating and happy to let us use it. Our rooms were pleasant and comfortable, with a mountain and outdoor feel. I especially liked having a kitchenette in each room. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and are already planning to return to South Fork.
