Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham South Gate

When we tried using the AC on a hot summer night, it was completely broken. The desk said someone could look at it tomorrow, which didn’t help that night. Their only suggestion was to leave and find another hotel. We were stranded in a new city at 8 p.m. The manager, contacted through the desk, offered no apology or real solution, just a blunt message that we could leave and get a refund. Getting proof of the refund was a struggle too. Staff didn’t know how to share the information or print it until I insisted, and I had to explain that I wanted proof and ask when and how the refund would arrive. The room was also below expectations, with a less clean bathroom and a setup that looked thrown together, including a dining table in the room. I’d called ahead and was told a king room was available, but minutes later on arrival they said only a small queen was left. The front desk was slow, unhelpful, and disorganized, and didn’t care when I showed proof of my call. This was by far the worst hotel experience of my life. The service was unprofessional, careless, and disrespectful. They wasted my time, gave false information, and treated customers like they didn’t matter. It’s a disgrace to the Wyndham brand. If I could give negative stars, I’d give minus five (-5).

The cleaners were so nice, and they gave me coffee when I came into the lobby. The rooms were very clean, though there was a wall right in front of our window, which I didn’t like. Still, they made me want to come to LA more. This is the best place, go here.

There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby. It’s on a very busy street by the freeway, though it’s not as busy at night.

My family and I booked a room about two months ago while visiting relatives in the area. The people next door kept us up with loud music and a sound like a fax machine or printer going all night. I have a baby and was awake at 4 a.m. because of it. They sniffled constantly, as if they had colds, and didn’t seem to try to hide it. I realized right away they were ICE agents when there was a lot of noise at 4 a.m. and I saw around four cars leave the lot with men in uniform carrying duffle bags. They had Texas plates. They were very rude. Never staying here again.
