Super 8 by Wyndham South Holland Hotel

The breakfast was simple and included, the price was reasonable, and it was close to my company's office. My room had soft beds and clean sheets, with no bugs or loud noise. The staff were very friendly, and I'll definitely stay at this Super 8 again when I'm in the area. Highly recommend.

The hallway carpet is old and dirty and needs a thorough cleaning or replacement. The bed sheets are heavily stained, and the bath towels, washcloths, and hand towels are torn and in poor condition.

I can't review the room or location because I never got to stay. When we arrived, they told us our room had been canceled, and nobody had tried to contact me. I was called only an hour to an hour and a half after I was already at the hotel. Someone there said the cancellation call had been made at 7:00 in the morning, which clearly hadn't happened. They turned us away and offered no help finding another room. I heard 'no rooms, sorry' about ten times. They'd overbooked and showed no willingness to help. I then contacted Wyndham customer care, who said they'd reach out to the hotel. The hotel's response was the equivalent of $5 in Wyndham rewards points. I was told to call the general manager to escalate the case, since they couldn't do anything else. I've tried, but the general manager is never available and hasn't called me back or even tried to.

The room smelled like urine, the paint was peeling, there was a cockroach, and barely any water came out of the sink faucet. I accidentally left a pillow behind and called a few hours later to get it back. The front desk said they hadn't found one. Terrible hotel.
