South Lake Chalet

We keep coming back, and this was our third stay. It’s still our favorite Tahoe spot. Our dog Chanel is happy to return too, and the pet-friendly setup makes it even better for us. The room feels cozy and cared for, and we slept really well. I love having a fireplace in the room; it makes the place feel so much like Tahoe. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, with no noise or interruptions during our stay. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the lake, with lovely nature all around and that fresh forest smell. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we felt at home. Highly recommend it if you want a peaceful, cozy place in a great location.

The check-in and checkout were easy, and the place was clean, quiet, and nicely furnished. The soap and paper supplies were especially good. The TV takes a little getting used to, and I don't usually watch one on vacation, but the Winter Olympics were on so I gave it a try. I’d gladly return when I’m back in the area. I just wish there were a bit more storage and a toaster for the kitchenette.

South Lake Chalet has won us over. We usually choose international chain hotels, but the reviews and the details of this place convinced us to give it a try. The room is smaller than what the big chains offer, though the amenities more than made up for that. The room was clean, cozy, comfortable, and very quiet, exactly what we wanted. We arrived on a January afternoon to find the gas fireplace already on and the room warmed to 70 degrees. There was a spot for wet shoes, and slippers were laid out for us. The bathroom and kitchenette were clean and well appointed. The king bed was warm and comfortable, and the pillows were real pillows. The contactless stay was handled flawlessly. All the check-in and checkout information we needed came by email and text before arrival and departure. We’ll stay here whenever we’re in Tahoe now. Thanks to everyone at STC. KC

We loved how peaceful the area was, and the photos really don't do this charming place justice. The management team was friendly, quick to respond, and made sure we had what we needed. Our room was spotless and full of thoughtful extras like coffee, tea, slippers, and sleep masks. It was incredibly cozy, with a cute fireplace and a very comfortable bed to sink into after a long day. Having streaming on the TV meant we could relax with our shows, too. Great value and a lovely boutique hotel. Can't wait to come back!
