The Washoe

Room 4 has a great location, is pet friendly, and the kitchen is a big plus, though the place needs some upgrades. The Washoe location is great, with excellent food within walking distance, and it’s close to trails and lakeside trails. It has a fun cabin feel when you walk in, and it was nice and clean. The website pictures matched what we found. The shower was good, though it took a while to warm up. The internet worked well once it got going, but each time it took 3-5 minutes to really come up. The kitchen had most of what we needed, including a mini fridge with freezer, though we had to buy paper towels. Linens were clean throughout. The bed needs a major upgrade. It sank in the middle and had a ton of foam toppers stacked on top of each other. The outlets were loose, the floors felt cheap and made my wife’s socks dirty, and the bathroom towel rack was pretty bent. There’s no bathroom fan to clear shower steam. Also, thanks to the guy from South Carolina who showed up at 12:30am screaming at his kids and demonstrating just how thin the walls are.

We walked into the room and immediately saw it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. I took photos right away, but didn’t get a refund. August.

They treat their guests well and go the extra mile to make sure things are good and you’re enjoying your stay.

I arrived at Washoe lodge late at night, but they still accepted my booking and got a room ready for us quickly. Booking was easy and the price was good. I like the quiet vibe and how close it is to all the travel locations. There’s also a small kitchen with all the utensils to use.
