Arroyo Vista Inn

I stayed here so I could be near my daughter’s wedding venue, and found a lovely, quiet retreat among the trees in the hills. The staff were kind and made me a vegan breakfast. Free parking is included. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re coming to the Los Angeles area or just need a break from everyday life.

The breakfast was my favorite part: fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and complimentary self-serve coffee and tea. This charming little B&B in the South Pasadena hills felt homey, and the rooms were cute. There are parking spaces at the inn, and it’s in a good area with easy metro access for a day out. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting LA who still wants to feel comfortable and at home.

We needed somewhere for our dog and us to stay after my apartment needed emergency repairs with no warning. I’d just started a remote job and wanted a mellow place to work, and this suited us perfectly. I think most rooms have desks and chairs, and ours had both. Our landlord kept moving the date we could return, but the owners let us extend each time. There was loud repair work outside on a few days, which got a bit annoying, though it didn’t last long. I’d definitely come back. You’d never guess the house was here from the street. It sits on a quiet, shady hill, with a distant mountain view. I hadn’t stayed at a B&B before and wasn’t sure whether I’d have to join in activities, but nobody bothered us. They did have a wine hour in the evening. Highland Park is only about five minutes away if you’d rather eat out. One night we brought pasta back and ate it on the porch during wine hour. The food being cooked in the house smelled really good too.

It’s a peaceful place to stay while exploring the area. This historic inn is tucked into the hillside, with a porch overlooking trees. The rooms are comfortable and unpretentious. Breakfast is simple and fresh, the coffee is good, and parking on site is free. The staff are kind and unobtrusive.
