Comfort Inn and Suites San Francisco Airport North

The hotel shuttle is available, but allow for a possible wait. Reception said it came every 45 minutes, though we landed on a domestic flight at 9:45 p.m. and weren’t picked up until 11:15, about an hour and a half later. We’d also tried emailing before arrival to share our estimated time, but got no reply and couldn’t reach the hotel. Our room was quite cold when we arrived. Breakfast runs from 6 to 9 and offers omelette or a basic English breakfast, muffins, apples, yogurt, and coffee. There were no vegetables or cheese. The stay was acceptable for us, though it may not suit everyone. There’s a public bus stop about five minutes away, where you can catch the 292 from the airport. We booked through Super.com.

The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good, and the hotel itself was nice. But someone had left food and a drink in our refrigerator, and they smelled pretty bad. The shower also drained so slowly that we stood in the water while using it. We told the front desk the next morning before going sightseeing. The woman there said she’d submit a work order, but the same drainage problem was still there the following morning.

The location is excellent, with lots of restaurants nearby, and the hotel offers very good value. The rooms are clean and fairly renovated, and reception responds when you need them. Breakfast is very good too. The woman who keeps it stocked and clean is impressive. Our one issue was people rolling luggage down the corridor at night or very early in the morning. I’d go back any time.

Parking wasn’t free, which was the only problem for me. Otherwise, everything was great. The staff were excellent, especially Tessa at reception, who was so friendly and charming. I’ve stayed in lots of hotels, some more expensive, and in my opinion Comfort Hotel is the best in its class. I haven’t found another place of this quality at this price, and it’ll be my first choice when I’m back in the area.
