Courtyard Sf Airport/Oyster Point Waterfront

Stepping out onto the San Francisco Bay Trail and walking along the water was lovely. I saw flowers, boats, and different birds, including two tiny hummingbirds. The broad view of the bay and sky settled me right down, and it was nice to get a break from the busy SF International Airport. The shuttle wasn't as frequent as at the hotels closer to the airport, but it was manageable. I liked this hotel a lot. The room was spacious and clean, and the waterfront view was wonderful. I come here when visiting San Mateo Cty because it's a peaceful spot tucked behind all the office buildings. The rooms are roomy and clean, the beds are semi-firm, and the hallways are quiet enough to rest. I like having a view of the Bay and trail. There's a flat walking trail behind the hotel that loops around the Bay. Plenty of people use it, including bicyclists, and it feels safe. The lobby has lots of seating and quiet places to read. The cafe is nice too, with free coffee until 6 or 7 p.m.; earlier in the day they serve Starbucks and pastries or other baked goods. A good place to get away and rest.

The room was huge, and the waterside walkway was a nice part of the stay. Getting downtown takes 20-30 minutes by car, though it can be over an hour when traffic is bad. The rest was a mixed bag. Breakfast was slow, with one person behind the counter microwaving food. Housekeeping wasn't routine, so you had to ask the front desk; I requested coffee and it never arrived. The walls were thin and the rooms noisy. Mine was beside the elevator machinery, which made it hard to sleep. There's also a Starbucks about a five-minute walk away.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had no problems during my stay. We picked this place hoping it would be quiet, and it was. The tradeoff is that it’s far from the main street, so getting around by public transportation isn’t ideal. It’s near the water, though the view doesn’t offer much to see.
