I was here because my friend had lost a baby, and I just wanted to lie down for a little while. At check-in, the first thing I was told was that smoking wasn't allowed in the room. I said that was fine and I could smoke in my car, since I don't smoke in public places. Then he said smoking wasn't allowed anywhere on the property, even though people were smoking there when I walked out. I'm pretty sure it was because I was Black. The smell of wet carpet and curry was already strong, but apparently the issue was someone smelling like smoke at an Indian establishment. Treat your people better. Love a West Indian.

We spent two nights here while visiting downtown San Francisco. We wanted a ground-floor room with parking right outside so we could keep an eye on our motorcycle and trailer. They had planned to put us upstairs, but for a little more money they got us a downstairs room. There aren't many rooms in the place. The AC worked and the room was okay, though it had blinds but no curtains to keep the sun out. Getting to food and Fisherman's Wharf was convenient. The main concern was the busy gas station behind the hotel, with people going up and down the alley all night.

The floor was so dirty my feet turned black walking on it, and the sheets hadn't been changed. There was blood soaked through them, along with dirt in the bed. It was loud too, with car alarms waking me up. The location is better than the Tenderloin.

The shared bathroom and shower were clean, but there was only one toilet and shower for the whole hotel, and you have to wash your hands in your room. The sink there barely trickled. The bed and pillows were both stiff, the walls were thin, and my window lock was broken. The room looked like it might be under renovation, since it was somewhat clean but covered in dust. The area wasn't too bad, but I'd stick to traveling south because north felt sketchy. They charge for every night when you first arrive, so be aware of that. I wouldn't recommend staying more than a night or two, and in general wouldn't recommend it.
