Comfort Suites Southaven - Memphis South

The suite they moved me to was an appreciated upgrade, even though one of its TVs still didn’t work. The bedroom TV did, so I didn’t call again. My original room’s TV had stopped working when I arrived around 5:30 p.m. on 10/31. A front desk woman tried to fix it, then maintenance got it going around 6:30, but it stopped again as soon as he left. I called and asked for another room because I was tired and just wanted to relax. At checkout the next morning, I admit I overslept. I woke at 10:50 a.m. and asked for just one extra hour to gather my belongings and get myself together. They said no because housekeeping was short staffed, which made no sense to me. I was rushing when the front desk clerk knocked. I said I was getting my things and would be out. Less than five minutes later someone else knocked. After I’d been patient through the earlier problems, I was frustrated at being rushed, but kept my composure. The housekeeper was very rude and told me it was time to go, as if she couldn’t see me packing. When I said I’d be out soon, she held the door wide open. I asked her to close it so I could change my pants, and she said no. I told her that wasn’t legal, even if checkout time had passed. She said she could do whatever she wanted and threatened to call the cops. She stood there until I left and followed me to the elevator. Staff should never treat guests this way. I recorded her saying she could do what she wanted, but can’t upload the video here. Here’s a picture. I’ll never stay at this hotel again.

The staircase took them a whole week to “paint,” with banging and other noise during the night. The night receptionist didn’t know anything, there’s only one elevator, and the female maintenance staff are horrendous. I won’t stay here again, and I’ll tell my company not to either.

My room, #104, was terrible, actually gross, and the charges made things even worse. For one night on October 25th, 2025, I was charged over $700. They “accidentally” charged my card twice for $210, added the “$100” incidental charge, and had already charged $129.82 on the day I booked. That’s a ton of money to be without. It overdrafted my account, and now I have a hefty overdraft fee. The manager, CINDY, said my money would be refunded in 5-7 business days. I asked for a discount or some other help, but she said no and that they weren’t liable for what my bank does to me. But they are liable for charging me that insane amount for one night. They couldn’t make it right, and I’ll never stay at a Comfort Suites again. Watch out!

Diamond at the front desk was wonderful, but the other employees weren’t. The rooms were gross, and so was the food. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for a better hotel.
