Holiday Inn Southaven Central - Memphis by IHG

Ms. Edna Kirby greeted us promptly at breakfast and was friendly, efficient, and kind. Mr. Allen was just as pleasant and efficient, and the two of them made our stay great. The hotel was clean, the staff was courteous, the coffee was fresh, and the restaurant was convenient with a good variety of meals.

The desk clerk, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t catch, ran after a guest who’d left his wallet on the lobby couch. That was so thoughtful. Emma at the bar was a pleasure, even with a few unpleasant patrons around, and Mr. Rick was great too. Everyone was cheerful, welcoming, and had a good sense of humor from the moment I arrived. There was early coffee ready when I needed it, and Ms. Edna was especially pleasant and attentive in the morning. Happy Holidays to the marvelous staff at the Holiday Inn, Southaven!!

My parents were worn out after getting caught in hours-long, nearly stopped traffic during the January 2026 ice storm. Fuel was hard to find, and power outages and blocked roads had shut all the rest areas, so it was a nightmare. I booked this room for them, and thankfully the hotel still had a few openings and treated my road-weary parents so well. Edna was an amazing host, and the stay was great. I’m grateful for places like this and people like Edna.

The lobby looked beautiful and smelled nice, but after that the stay went downhill. Our room was cramped, and as soon as we walked in there was a strong feet or corn-chip smell. The carpet really needs to be replaced. When we raised the odor with the young man with the lonv permed hair, he was rude and not helpful. They also charged $14 for powdered eggs and a very disappointing breakfast that wouldn’t have been good even for free. I didn’t enjoy this hotel at all, and I’m sticking to Hilton.
