Route 66 Hotel, Springfield, Illinois

We had dinner there both nights because the food and entertainment were good, and the staff made it such a fun place to be. The all-you-can-eat choices were delicious and well priced. Deanna and the team were amazing and helpful throughout our stay, and Lexi and the Diner were great too. We’d happily stay again, especially in one of the Jucuzzi rooms.

The room had no outside windows, and the place felt worn and not especially clean. We kept our socks on. There was a strong smell of cheap air freshener, and cell service was poor. It looks cool from the outside, though. Definitely an experience.

They treated my pup like a queen, and everyone was patient, professional, and helpful. We were made to feel like longtime friends, and the staff were always ready to lend a hand. I love this place and would definitely choose it for a vacation. I wish I could give it more stars, and I recommend it for a week getaway.

We forgot to stop and collect our deposit, and they kept the money. We pleaded over and over, but the manager wouldn’t even come out of the office. They spoke to my husband through a front desk employee and insisted we were past their two-week policy. We were never told about that policy. Don’t stay here. I’ve worked in hospitality for 7 years, and I’ll pass this along to warn others. Plenty of other hotels have hot tub suites, and they won’t ask for a cash deposit and then refuse to return it.
