Cafe Drydock & Inn

We loved the quiet feel of Southwest Harbor, and having shops and several good places to eat nearby was great. There’s a bus stop right on the corner, little traffic, and plenty to do within walking distance. My nine-year-old daughter and I spent a week here in October 2025 in Cadillac #1. The apartment worked really well for taking a break between outings, and the big fluffy blankets on the very comfortable bed made it easy to relax at night. The kitchen was fully stocked, which made meals and packing for our daily adventures simple. Arriving in town after dark was a bit confusing, since the parking is across the street and down the block. I understand there are several kinds of rooms, from bedrooms to suites. We’d definitely come back.

Cafe drydock is on the quieter side of the island, so it’s a nice escape from the busy feel of bar harbor. Parking was easy, and our clean room was a good size. The downtown strip nearby has restaurants, including the one in-house, plus an ice cream shop and gift shops. We had a great stay.

The location is fantastic, and the atmosphere feels just right for Acadia. Service was amazing, too. The Southwest Acadia mussels were incredibly tender, just the right size, and had almost translucent shells. Maybe the best mussels I’ve ever had. Wow, highly recommend.

We stopped in for a couple of drinks while we waited for dinner. The prosecco was smooth and among the best we’ve had, and we shared delicious burrata and brie. Our waitress was funny and attentive, so we enjoyed the whole visit.
