Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Mobile Daphne/ E Shore

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The beds were extremely hard, and our three nights were uncomfortable. The king suite I booked was also very small. We ran out of towels, and then guests were blamed for there not being clean ones available, so I had to go buy towels. Breakfast was okay on Saturday and Sunday, but on the other days it was ridiculous for what they charge each night. At check-in, one young woman was being trained, which I understand, and the woman helping her was nice. But a heavier-set woman came up behind them and made a smart gesture while we were trying to sort things out, which irritated me.

The front desk, housekeeping, and cafe staff were all lovely, friendly people, but I can't rate the room higher than one star because of the bugs. We stayed several nights in November, and early on the morning we left, there was a cockroach in the bathroom and another on the room wall. I took a video. I contacted the hotel manager/GM, but she never returned my call or addressed the problem. It's a shame I couldn't get a call back from the manager.

We stayed twice in one week. On the first night, there was hair on our sheets and ants around the microwave, apparently drawn by jelly on the cabinet. They replaced the sheets and took care of it right away. On our second stay, the woman at the front desk let us swim and check in early. Everyone was so hospitable, from the breakfast staff to the front desk.

We were on the third floor for two nights, and the elevator wasn't working either night. The hot tub wasn't hot; the indoor pool in the same room was warmer. After a while, the chlorine smell became overwhelming. I'm sure it gave me chemical burns, because my face felt like it was on fire when I showered afterward.
